Born in 1974, made her MSc. degree in the pedagogical field of biology and physical education at the Institute of Physical education and Sports, Charles University, Prague in the period of 1992-1997. In 1997 started PhD studies at Department of Plant Anatomy and Physiology, Charles University, Prague, which she finished in 2003 with academic degree - RNDr. During her study tour at Emory University in Atlanta, (Emory Eye Center, lab of J. H. Boatright) in 2000-2001 she focused on the gene therapy of eye diseases. Since 2002 she is employed at the Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i. The research is focused on production, isolation, and structure identification of secondary metabolites produced by submerged cultures of fungi and bacteria. She is also involved in development of analytical methods including column chromatography, thin layer chromatography, and HPLC for the separation and quantification of secondary metabolites.
