Studentská vědecká konference v Brně se blíží! The Student Scientific Conference on Biotechnology and Biomedicine, Brno 10th - 12th April 2013 ________________________________________ Dear friends, it is our pleasure to invite you in name of Masaryk University and students organization Biomania to another year of TheStudent Scientific Conference on Biotechnology and Biomedicine, which will take place 10th - 12th April 2013 in the cosy environment of the main hall of theOffice of the Public Defender of Rights in Brno, Czech Republic. In 2013, the conference is dedicated to the topic of BIOMEDICINE. The meeting offers the unique opportunity for students ofbachelor, master and doctoral programmesto present their work in the athmosphere of professional conference, yet in front of the friendly audience consisted mostly of students. The conference provides the possibility to meet young colleagues not only from other Czech universities but also from other countries of the Central European region – Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Hungary. The conference will be divided in four sessions in 2013: Molecular Biology of Non-Oncological Diseasses Molecular Oncology Nucleic Acids Research in Biomedicine Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Research. Dr. Manuel Serrano, who discovered and characterized tumor supressor p16, will give his talk on Wednesday 10th April as a keynote lecturer. The keynote lecture will be open for public. Předmětem činnosti Mikrobiologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i., je vědecký výzkum v oblastech fyziologie, biochemie a genetiky mikroorganizmů, molekulární biologie a molekulární mikrobiologie, studium mikrobních produktů a jejich tvorby, výzkum biodegradačních aktivit mikroorganizmů a symbiotických vztahů biologických modelů, včetně vývoje nových biotechnologických postupů.
Dále se studuje fyziologie a regulace imunitních mechanismů vrozených či získaných, ontogenetický vývoj těchto mechanismů u konvenčních i bezmikrobních modelů a příčiny a možné terapie nádorových a autoimunitních onemocnění.
