Welcome and thank you for considering working on your PhD in campus! By clicking on the institute icons, you can find all open positions at individual institutes along with the information about the Interview Day, which is separate for the individual institutes. Please note that the institutes do not provide study programmes. If you are accepted for PhD position at any institute, you should enrol to the study programme at some affiliated university, typically Charles University or University of Chemistry and Technology.
Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences
The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG) is a public research institution, an important part of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It focuses on research in the fields of molecular and cell biology, immunology, genomics and bioinformatics. IMG also hosts three large national infrastructures (CZ-OPENSCREEN, Czech-Bioimaging, Czech Centre for Phenogenomics
and one large national infrastructure operated by IMG ELIXIR-CZ)is hosted at IOCB.
The online application for academic year 2022/2023 is closed.
Next round will be open in January 2023.
Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences
Institute of Experimental Medicine CAS supports basic research across the biomedical spectrum with a high potential for technological transfer in human medicine. Our projects are focused on biomedical challenges such as finding effective diagnostic markers and treatment of serious diseases associated with aging of the human population – neurodegeneration, trauma/ischemia, musculoskeletal disorders, cancer, degenerative changes in vision and hearing. Strong impact is also given on the assessment of environmental pollution on human health.
Institute of Physiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IPHYS) is a leading research institution
in the field of normal and pathological physiology of the nervous system, cardiovascular system and metabolism.
Using a wide range of molecular to systemic approaches and model organisms we tackle pathogenesis of serious
medical conditions including neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, stroke, ischemic heart disease,
diabetes and inherited metabolic disorders.
The BIOCEV research centre opened in 2016 as a joint project of Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Prague and currently it provides an opportunity to 56 research teams and over 250 PhD and MSc students to carry out excellent research in biology and biomedicine. The research at BIOCEV is also supported by state-of-art facilities (Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, Bioimaging, OMICS and Molecular structure and others).
