Education & Career
Master degree in the field of analytical chemistry was received in 2007 at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The diploma thesis aimed at the development and application of HPLC-fluorescence method for determination of lincomycin precursors in fermentation broth. Currently, I continue as post gradual student at the same faculty. Since 2006, I have been working at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in the Laboratory of Genetics, Physiology and Bioengineering of Fungi. The experimental part of my diploma thesis was already carried out here and the topic of my dissertation is also connected to this laboratory as well as to the Laboratory for Biology of Secondary Metabolism (lab. 111).
Research interest
Secondary metabolites of microorganisms and their application in biotechnology; discovery of novel bioactive compounds; the role of secondary metabolites in the environment; nature products screening; combinatorial biosynthesis.
Development, validation and application of chromatographic methods for analysis of antibiotics, their precursors and other metabolites in fermentation broths, reaction mixtures, soils etc.; samples pre-treatment prior their analysis including the clean-up, pre-concentration or derivatization.
Techniques: analytical and preparative ultra-performance and high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC, HPLC) hyphenated with UV (DAD), fluorescence or mass spectrometry (ToF MS) detectors; thin-layer chromatography (TLC) with UV or chemical detection, solid phase extraction; bioassays.
