Miroslav Kolařík, PhD
Made his Msc. degree in biology in botanical department of Charles University in Prague in period 1997-2002. Doctoral degree obtained at the same department (2002-2007). He is employed at Institute of Microbiology, Czech Academy of Sciences and in Botanical Dept. of Faculty of Sciences, Charles University. He is teaching several special mycological courses and is advisor or four pre-graduate students. His scientific interests are ecology, diversity and taxonomy (classical and molecular approach) of insect associated fungi (genus Geosmithia, Quambalaria, ophiostomatoid fungi), wood endophytes, soil fungi (mostly acidophylic), plant parasites (Claviceps spp.) and Aspergillus spp. He is a monograph of the Geosmithia genus. He collaborates closely with working groups at University of Florence (A. Scala group), Universtiy of Wisconsin (J. Hulcr), University of Bergen (L. Kirkendall), Colorado State University, Fort Collins (N. Tisserat), Agricultural University of Cracow (R. Jankowiak) and FABI, University of Pretoria (W. deBeer). He participated on 13 research projects funded by the Czech government and is author or co-author of 34 scientific publications. His H-index is 6 (based on WoS).
