Research
The general target of our research is to develop promising aspects of generation and atomization of volatile compounds for trace element analysis and for speciation by atomic spectrometry methods, namely by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS) or by inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Our explicit aims include:
- Common atomizers of volatile species in AAS and AFS
- Speciation analysis with focus on toxicological studies and biological matrices
- Preparation of radioactive indicators and their application to our research
- New approaches to in-atomizer trapping of volatile hydrides
- Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) - novel atomizers for trace element analysis
- Development of flexible AFS instrument
- Chemical generation of volatile species – focused on new analytes
- Photochemical generation of volatile species – exploring alternative routes to generation of volatile species
